Could Eating Bananas Help Ensure You Have A Boy?

Researchers found a connection between potassium intake and babies' gender.

According to one particular superstition, increasing potassium intake while pregnant can increase a woman's chances of having a boy. Bananas are very high in potassium, which makes them an ideal candidate for increasing your intake. Some women who want a baby girl will cut bananas from their diet entirely while they're pregnant.

Though many people think this is an old wives' tale, a study indicates a possible connection between potassium intake and having a baby boy. High sodium and calcium intake were also connected to having a boy, researchers found (Delish).

Though the study did find these connections, there isn't a way to guarantee one particular gender just through your diet. Click here for more thoughts on babies and bananas.
