National Rainbow Baby Day

If you have been on social media recently, you may have noticed a lot of rainbow themed photos of mothers and their children.
On August 22, mothers across the country united to show support for one another for National Rainbow Baby Day.
This special celebration is a way for mothers across the country to share their experiences, grieve, reflect, and most importantly, celebrate the joy and love for their beautiful Rainbow Babies.
A Rainbow Baby is a baby born after a miscarriage. While National Rainbow Baby Day may come with a note of sadness for the loss these mothers have faced, writer and mother Amanda Colbert notes how her experience has shaped her perspective:

"In a way, the baby I never got to meet laid the groundwork for my perspective of motherhood and parenting, and the nearness and dearness with which I hold my children."
Every mother who experiences a miscarriage goes through a unique journey of emotions. However, if anything is certain, it's that there is no right or wrong way to feel, and no time limit for grieving a lost child.
National Rainbow Baby Day is a day for mothers to unite without requirements or conditions.
