Philippines Newborn With Leukemia Granted Passport To Come To U.S. To Get Treatment

Baby Maverick Sevrin Co, known as Sevy, was born with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in the Philippines two weeks ago. His parents posted on Facebook, seeking advice for the fastest way to get a passport and a U.S. visa. They want him to undergo chemotherapy in the United States.
The Department of Foreign Affairs will get Sevy an emergency-process passport. He will travel with medical equipment and an infant CPR kit, cradled by his parents since he cannot be in an incubator on the plane (Inquirer).
His parents, Don and Ria, want their son to undergo treatment at the St. Jude Research Center in Memphis. While they are still waiting for the U.S. visa to be processed, they are asking donors for O+ blood. Sevy has been receiving blood transfusions since he was a day old and needs them every eight hours.
