Photographer Shows Real Pictures of Women's Bodies After Childbirth

And it's not how fashion and media portray them.

Current American culture presents a beauty ideal that's challenging to meet. But for pregnant mothers and women who have just given birth, it's downright impossible to conform to these beauty standards. It's also ridiculous, as those ideals rule out multiple body types and situations, including pregnancy.

But one photographer decided to deviate from the way media presents a woman's post-partum body. Instead of editing out the stretch marks, Jade Beall intimately photographs women who have given birth. 

It's important for people to recognize the impossible standard that women are held to - just because they aren't portrayed honestly in media. In the picture below, a mother stands with her three children and spouse. It's honest, and it's beautiful.
